Jyothi started her practice in 2000 when she was in university. She first started yoga as a way to help her de-stress from her studies. Little did she know that yoga would transform her life completely. Since then, she has been teaching for 14 years.
Yoga has led her to travel across the globe in search of a deeper meaning to life. She studied with world renowned teachers like Pattabhi Jois, David Swenson, Richard Freeman, Peter Scott, Dharma Mittra, Ellen Head, Michelle Papa and Karen Wightman. Jyothi is also trained in cranial sacral therapy, a gentle manual work that helps realign the spine and the energetic body. She is also certified in TRX, Barre, and Pilates.
Today, her practice is a combination of yoga flow, isolated muscle training as well as mindful relaxation. Her approach to teaching is scientific: The techniques she teaches is derived from physical therapy principles aimed at realigning the body back to holistic health.
“Our bodies are a machine, similar to a car. If we take care of our bodies, our bodies will take care of us. When we understand the biomechanics of the human body, the body will naturally heal itself. When we are physically healthy, we become fully alive, and when we are alive, our entire energetic system is rebooted into higher power.”
After years of internal exploration, her meditation today is off the mat and into the world, instilling body awareness in her students whilst creating positive human interactions.
